Happy Thursday to you! Today’s post is short and sweet…I have a busy morning ahead of me, including a dentist appointment…why, oh why, must we go to the dentist?

This Thursday’s detail shot is…sweet. Although this one is very simple, it’s been one of my favorites for a while. In fact, I used this photo as my background display on my iPhone for several months. The beautiful roses, along with the rest of the floral design for the wedding, was provided by Redman Steele Florist, whom I highly recommend.

Photographers, I’m having a hard time remembering the specific specs on this particular photograph, but I do know that it was taken on my Contax 645, Fuji 400H film, rated at 200. I believe that I was wide open at 2.0, metered to the shadow. Processed and scanned by North Coast Photo.

Dear Friends,

I am delighted beyond words with my lovely new business cards and marketing folders, designed by Sarah Drake in Chicago. Letterpress printed on Crane’s 100% cotton, 220 pound lettra paper….hmmm. I find myself turning the cards over and over in my hand just to feel the softness of the paper and the texture of the letterpress.

Sarah Drake is a wonderfully talented designer, and it has been a joy to work with her!

I hope that you enjoy these photographs as much as I enjoyed shooting them! What a wonderful day…full of color and character. The vivid color complimented the laughter and fun of the day and yet was a perfect contrast to the soft emotion…the tears and joy sprinkled throughout. Kristina was a beautiful bride, full of grace and poise…her eyes shined with love and tenderness towards her husband and family.

I must thank my friend, Melissa, of MasterPiece Weddings for her creativity while planning this lovely wedding. It is always a treat to work with Melissa and her team!

My Friends,

I am delighted to share Jessica and John’s engagement photos with you! This is a very special couple from California.

Jessica and John are getting married this May at the beautiful Powel Crosley Estate in Sarasota, Florida, and their wedding is being planned by my dear friend, Samara Anderson, of Voila Events. Jessica shares my own love for antiques, and she and John are incorporating many “found” objects into their wedding day. Theirs is sure to be lovely wedding, and I am blessed to have the privilege of photographing it.

We chose the Rosa Fiorelli Winery as the location for their engagement session…it is rich with character and history. The open space, rough wood, and bare vines fit Jessica and John perfectly.

Tomorrow I will have more photos to share of a beautiful wedding…filled with vivid reds and bright turquoises. A fabulous wedding, to be sure…

My, oh my! What a treat to have two weddings featured this week.  Lauren, with Every Last Detail, is showcasing Darren and Kristina’s beautiful wedding. This is a first time look into this magical day, as I have not personally shown the wedding photography from this Gainesville, Florida wedding on A Pen for Pearl yet. Darren and Kristina were a joy to photograph, and I am blessed to have had the opportunity to capture their day. How very lucky of me!  Erin of Lucky Designs, and the Lucky Me! blog, is featuring Jennifer and Drew’s darling wedding today.

Erin designs the most adorable monograms for brides and grooms…for invitations, napkins, programs, and many, many other wedding purposes. Her work is wonderful!
