What is A Pen for Pearl?  A diary of sorts...a photography journal.

A Pen for Pearl is dedicated to my grandmother, Gloria Pearl, in honor of her

faithfulness to handwritten letters and her love for the beautiful things in life.

May her legacy be carried on through my journal as I correspond

regularly with you, always remembering the beauty that surrounds us.

I am a Tampa wedding photographer, and I specialize in capturing natural,

personal, romantic images.  I shoot primarily with film...a timeless medium.  I

would love for you to visit A Pen for Pearl frequently!  Consider it an

invitation to sit with me on my patio, enjoy a home brewed latte, and

browse through a handful of photographs together...

~The Full Length Veil~

A couple weeks ago, I talked about how much I enjoy photographing a bride in a veil…it adds such drama to the image. Generally, any time I have the opportunity to add texture to a photograph, it’s a good thing. A veil adds not only texture, but romance too. And given the choice…which, of course,...

~Tuesday Portrait~

Hello friends, I think I’ve laughed more this weekend than in the past year combined. I wish I could somehow share a glimpse into my world when I’m with my brothers – somehow all the little boring details of life become material for sarcasm and wit. The past five days have been no exception. I...

~Tuesday Portrait~

Hello friends, Happy Tuesday to you! I have a busy day ahead of me…I’m looking forward to it. Today I am sharing a portrait from Amy and Tony’s wedding at the Safety Harbor Resort and Spa. I like this one in particular because it seems to typify Florida, mostly because of the water and palm...

~Tuesday Portrait~

Hello Friends, Did you enjoy Labor Day? I didn’t do an ounce of work…I spent the day with my family. Eric made breakfast in the morning – over easy eggs, bacon, and toast. Later in the afternoon, we took the boys to Miss Bonnie’s, their beloved 80 year old friend, and went to see The...

~A Portrait~

Hello friends, Happy Tuesday to you! I’m on day two of my new routine – yesterday went very smoothly. We sent both boys happily off to school, I began my new work schedule (which now involves waking up a 6 a.m….such a challenge for me!), plus a new exercise routine and the beginning of fresh...
