I am delighted beyond words with my lovely new business cards and marketing folders, designed by Sarah Drake in Chicago. Letterpress printed on Crane’s 100% cotton, 220 pound lettra paper….hmmm. I find myself turning the cards over and over in my hand just to feel the softness of the paper and the texture of the letterpress.

Sarah Drake is a wonderfully talented designer, and it has been a joy to work with her!

While I don’t describe my style of wedding photography as strictly “photojournalistic” in it’s truest sense, I do love to watch the unique moments of each wedding day unfold, and I consider it a privilege to capture and preserve these moments through my lens.

Kristen and Mike celebrated their beautiful wedding day with their friends and family, and their joy wasn’t snuffed out even slightly when the rain drops began to fall. These photographs are perhaps my favorite from their day together…moments of genuine happiness, despite the gray skies above.

Have I mentioned my love for antiques?

Several weeks ago, while meandering through one of my favorite antique stores, I found myself swooning over this Theodore Haviland china…circa 1860, from Limoges, France. I now enjoy my morning lattes with an extra touch of French class. There is something so special about holding a piece of history in my hands…it does make the lattes extra sweet.

I sometimes wonder what will be preserved for our grandchildren and great-grandchildren from our generation, and I can’t help but think of film negatives and the memories they have stored within…

The vivid color complimented the laughter and fun of the day and yet was a perfect contrast to the soft emotion…the tears and joy sprinkled throughout. Kristina was a beautiful bride, full of grace and poise…her eyes shined with love and tenderness towards her husband and family.

My Friends,

I am delighted to share Jessica and John’s engagement photos with you! This is a very special couple from California.

Jessica and John are getting married this May at the beautiful Powel Crosley Estate in Sarasota, Florida, and their wedding is being planned by my dear friend, Samara Anderson, of Voila Events. Jessica shares my own love for antiques, and she and John are incorporating many “found” objects into their wedding day. Theirs is sure to be lovely wedding, and I am blessed to have the privilege of photographing it.

We chose the Rosa Fiorelli Winery as the location for their engagement session…it is rich with character and history. The open space, rough wood, and bare vines fit Jessica and John perfectly.

Tomorrow I will have more photos to share of a beautiful wedding…filled with vivid reds and bright turquoises. A fabulous wedding, to be sure…
